Tracing the problem for your Internet Satellite Connection:
You have 4 indicator lights on your iDirect 3100 Satellite Modem (Power, Status, RX, TX and Net)
Now if you have any internet service problem you need to do the followings for tracing the problem causes.
Check all the indicator lights on your I-Direct Satellite Modem which should be ON (Green) in 3 to 4 minutes after Turning your Modem ON. If you find any of the Indicator light OFF please check the cables coming from Satellite Dish connected to your Satellite Modem so that they must be tightly fixed to the Satellite Modem. But if you find the cables connected properly to your modem and still have any of the indicator lights OFF please note which light is off and contact CeReTechs.
OR
If you find all the indicator lights OK and ON but you have problem in your internet service. Then do the followings:
- Check the network Switch or Hub so that it should be ON and functional
- Then check the network cables connected from Modem to your Network Switch And also check the cable connected from your Computer to the Network Switch or to the Modem. But, if all cables are connected properly and you still have problem in internet service. Please do the followings:
Go to Start Menu of your Windows in your PC and click on RunType CMD and press Enter. OR if it didn’t work type Command and press enter. You will see a blank black window (Command Prompt), here please try to ping your Gateway. And if you don’t know your gateway IP do the following.
To know what is your Gateway in this Command window please type ipconfig/all and press enter. Here you will find your IP settings and Gateway. And after finding your Gateway IP try to ping it as following example.
Ping 192.168.0.1
but you must type your own Gateway IP instead of 192.168.0.1. If you are not able to ping the Gateway it means you have some problem at your computer network card OR network Cable OR IP settings of your computer. But if your ping reply is positive please do one more thing. In the same Command Prompt window type ping www.yahoo.com and press Enter
If you get reply in positive but your browser does not open any site or you can not browse it means your browsing software is or windows has some problem.
